  • Ardnaurchan Distilary: You can't visit Scotland without visiting a fine whisky distillery.  This particular one is a mere 6.8miles away from Acharacle. For more info go to www.adelphidistillery.com

  • Ardnamurchan Charters: If you enjoy fishing or spoting dolphins and other sea lif this is a trip for you. This 38ft vessel sails from Loch Sunart  'Laurenca II', takes 12 anglers and offers superb opportunities to catch record breaking fish including skate, angler fish, turbot, cod, coalfish, whiting and ling. For more info go to  www.west-scotland-marine.com

  • Glencripesdale nature Reserve: For the avid walker the Glencripesdale is a wonderful place to visit combining woodland, shorelines, heaths and moorland with the chance of spotting an otter or two.   • Ariundle Oakwood: for those that enjoy walking and bird watching these ancient oakwoods are the place to see. The oakwoods are covered in lushes growth of mosses, ferns, liverworts and lichens being home to a variety of different birdlife.   • Resipole Studios: For the fine art lover Resipole Studios is just 3.8 miles away and has a number of different exhibitions throughout the year.  For more info go to www.resipolestudios.co.uk

  • Loch Sheil Cruises: If you fancy a day of relaxation and cruising along one of Scotland's unspoiled natural treasures this is a cruise for you especially if you enjoy a spot of bird watching.  You will have the chance of seeing Golden Eagles, White Tailed Eagles, Red-throated divers, Hen Harrier, Sparrow Hawks to name a few. For more info go to www.highlandcruises.co.uk

  • Day Trips to Mull: Day trips to the beautiful  island of Mull are easily accessible from Kilchoan around 21miles from Acharacle (50mins drive) via ferry to Tobermory. The ferry is a passenger and vehicle ferry. For more info go to www.calmac.co.uk
